How do you stay true to yourself when your world is in turmoil?
Fast forward two years and I have a solid network of business owners who I rely on for support, motivation and encouragement. But they haven’t come easy and they have not always come from the most likely of places. These connections are my lifeline. They keep me grounded and remind me who I am, where I am going and to enjoy the stage that I am in.
We support each other through every challenge and victory
There is the real estate agent and radio account manager who keep me honest. We talk about big issues like mental health and living true to yourself. Although we discuss some really heavy issues we are always there to motivate each other, push ourselves and support each other through every challenge and victory.
Knowledge is king
The horticultural expert who is in the 2nd stage of her business. We talk about plans for our business, what we have achieved and where we are going next. Our catch ups are monthly, it is full of advice, lots of questions and sharing of ideas. Together we read and listen to a lot of content and books and when we strike gold we share it. I love hearing about her challenges and how she overcomes them. I file them away for when I am ready to take on those issues.
He challenges me with new ideas and motivates me to push harder
The 10 year veteran who has seen it all and done it all (not really :)). He is my big picture guy. The one who helps me step back and see the path forward. He challenges me with new ideas and motivates me to push harder. He is also the most encouraging and willing to share everything he has learnt and the things he continues to learn. Some of the best books I have read in the last two years where on his advise.
My long suffering partner. The one who holds it all together. He continues to work every day to support me and my dream, which has now become his dream. He is patient through the long work hours, the missed weekends, the tears, the endless talk about business and all of my frustration. He is my rock. They say it takes a village, and it is true. I am who I am because of the people around me. Who is in your village and do they add true value to your growth?
